JAPANESE BASIN

For carpes koi

Waterfall, rocks and riverbanks

It is AAB Company that once more entrusted me with the sculpture of a 200 cubic meters basin which would eventually hold koi fish and other sturgeon from a southern French collector. Working alongside a team of workers from the company, my mission was to transform the edges of the basin into a concrete bank imitating the style of a Japanese garden.

On the program, fake boulders mostly flat and soft, a zen waterfall, soil banks, all without forgetting partially submerged reefs allowing the fish to hide from predatory birds. Also, movable boulders placed on pallets in order to decorate the alleys nearby and other flower beds on the property.

A very nice construction site, under the sun, in a (heavenly) garden paradise during the first Covid-19 lockdown.

“we are a bit of both”
